About Hummingbird Holistic and Pilates Centre
Pilates and yoga classes at Hummingbird Pilates and Holistic Centre take place in a light, calming studio, fringed with atmospheric candles - the perfect setting to train and relax. The treatment room is ideal for one-to-one therapies and consultations. Kellie Jones, pilates teacher and founder of the centre, has been running her own studio since 2003. Here is a little more about Hummingbird's teachers:
Kellie Jones - Pilates Teacher
Kellie has been teaching various forms of exercise now from over 18 years after originally training as a dancer with the Sylvia Young Theatre School and The London Studio Centre, where pilates was, and still is, part of a dancer's training. Having discovered she had a scoliosis of the spine, she now specialises in working with posture-related problems. Kellie has been running her own studio since 2003 and is passionate about pilates' power transform body shape and heal pain. Her experience in working in small groups, and one-to-one, has given her awareness of how the mind affects the body. She is also now trained in Hypnotherapy, NLP, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), Reflexology and Reiki. Lucia Cockcroft - Yoga Teacher
Lucia teaches a general yoga class for complete beginners and older people every Thursday morning from 10.15-11.15am. Suitable for anyone interested in de-stressing and keeping healthy, the class focuses on relaxation, breath awareness and basic postures. Lucia is a firm believer in the restorative and preventative power of yoga to keep mind and body in good health, regardless of age or background. She has been practising for a decade, and gained her teaching qualification in an ashram in northern California, run by the highly regarded Sivananda school of yoga. Her teaching style is inclusive and flowing, emphasising the breath. Jacqueline Taylor- Holistic Therapist
Since 1999 she has studied two Reiki disciplines to Mastership level, Crystal Healing, Indian Head Massage, Hopi Ear Candles, Meditation and has become a registered Heal Your Life Teacher (work based on the philosophy of Louise Hay). Jacqueline is also a fully qualified member of BABTAC and Embody. Jacqueline now practices Holistic & Complementary therapies in Chelmsford, with the aim to teach, aid and support anybody who wishes to live a healthy, happy, holistic life. Eleanor Searle - Chartered Physiotherapist
Expertise: Back pain, neck pain, shoulder and arm pain, hip, knee and ankle pain, whiplash and headaches, postural problems, orthopaedic problems, sports injuries. Her aim is to solve your muscle and joint problems. In addition to conventional mobilisation, massage and manipulation techniques, she may offer acupuncture for pain relief. She is also a fully qualified Pilates instructor and often prescribes Pilates exercises to maintain the progress made in clinic or to enable you to self- manage your symptoms. She also offers small groups and one-to-one Pilates sessions, suitable for all levels with clients ranging from those with back pain to athletes and the elderly.
Eleanor graduated from the University of East Anglia with First Class Honours degree in Physiotherapy and now specialises in the effective treatment of Spinal and Musculoskeletal problems. She is registered with the Health Professionals Council and is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the Australian Institute of Physiotherapy and Pilates and is currently studying for a Masters degree in Physiotherapy.
