To celebrate International Day of Yoga on 21st June, Vikki will be offering a yoga nidra session with all proceeds going to The Hope Foundation.

Yoga nidra is a deeply relaxing form of guided meditation. Usually practised lying down it is accessible to pretty much everyone and is the perfect antidote to most of our busy lives.

This ancient practice has been around for thousands of years and has had a recent growth in popularity due to the increasing scientific evidence backing up its profound benefits. Yoga nidra has been shown to help lower stress and anxiety, manage sleep issues and help manage pain.

This session will begin with some gentle floor based movements to settle the body before coming to a place of stillness to experience yoga nidra. We will draw our attention inwards by guiding awareness around the physical body taking the body to a place of deep rest, where we will explore breath awareness and creativity of the mind. It is in this more subconscious level of the mind in such a deep state of rest that deep healing can occur.

This session will be led by Vikki Stevenson, who has been practising and teaching yoga nidra for several years, after training with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Nirlipta Tuli. She leads yoga nidra in both to groups and in a 1:1 setting.
